In his first stop in Beijing, together with Prof. Miranda Schreurs from TUM, he visited the Tsinghua in a Univeristy mission, and attended the 2025 International Forum on Carbon Neutrality and Energy System Transformation (CNEST). This is a pay-back visit following earlier visits fromTsinghua university. led by President Luming Li in Jan. 2025 and vice President, Prof. Peixue Jiang, in Feb. 2025. He and Prof. Scheurs met with different people in Tsinghua to exchange ideas, and discuss potential ways forward of advancing the flagship relationship between two universities. He also presented a keynote talk in hydrogen technologies and participated the panel disucssion.
While in Beijing, he also visisted Beihang Univeristy, and Institute of Engineereing Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Science, and had fruitful discussion with its Director, Prof. Haisheng Chen.
His second stop was in Hangzhou, where he visited the Westlake Univeristy hosted by Prof. Anping Zeng, a former Professor in Hamburg University of Technology, and met a number of colleagues there. He presented our work on mulitscale understanding of phase change.
In his final stop in Macau, together with Prof. Donald Dingwell from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, also the newly elected President of the Academia Europaea, he visited the University of Macau, hosted by the Rector, Prof. Yonghua Song.
Extensive disucssions were held during the visits, which strengthened Prof. Wen’s long time connection and collaboration with Chinese colleagues.
