Reduced Dimensional Modelling of Circulatory System

A human circulatory system is made of more than 55,000 miles of blood vessels. Such a network of vessels has the characteristics that can create homeostatic properties. Homeostasis is when a system maintains stable conditions for living tissue to survive.
The huge circulatory system, also, leads to elevated blood pressure with in large arteries, e.g abdominal aortic aneurysm. Thus a whole body model is a necessity when large blood arteries are to be studied. Computationally, circulatory networks are too large to compute using the current computing resources. Thus reduced dimensional models, such as 1D and 0D, are used to reproduce approximated pressure and flowrate values within blood arteries.
