Supported by TUM Global Incentive Fund, Prof. Wen conducted second visit to Brazil in 7-15 April 2025, to develop collaboration with Brazil colleagues. The two major univerisites Prof. Wen visited are the State University of Sao Paulo (USP), and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
In USP-Sao Carlos campus, Prof. Wen visited the multiphase flow and heat transfer group led by Prof. Gherhardt Ribatski etc, and delivered a lecture on ‘ Multiscale understanding of phase change phenomena’. He had extensive exchange with PhD students and staff there including Profs. Debora, Luben and Arthur.
Accompanied by Prof. Gherhardt, Prof. Wen visited Universidade Federal de Itajubá, and the unique high pressure pre-salt experimental facilities in Itajuba, accompanied by Prof. Marcelo.
In Sao Paulo, Prof. Wen visited DWIH, Centre Alemao de Ciencia e Inovacao Sao Paulo, and met our TUM officer in South America, and DFG representative. Fruitful discussion were held on promoting different levels of collaboration, from education to research aspects.
Prof Wen’s UFRJ visit was hosted by Prof. Renato Cotta, where he delivered a oveview lecture in COPPE on the Chair’s research activities, and visited a number of Professors inlcuding Prof. Paulo Couto, Prof. Carolina Cotta, Prof. Atila PS Freire etc.
Extensive disucssions were held during the meetings, which strengthened Prof. Wen’s long time connection and collaboration with Brazilian scientists. Next visit from Brazil side to TUM is planned in May 2025.
