The Chair hosts the visit from Tsinghua University, 5-6 Feb. 2025, led by Professor Peixue Jiang, vice President of Tsinghua University and member of the Chinese Academy of Science. The delegates include Prof. Shuiqing Li, Vice Director, Research & Development Affairs Office, Prof. Ruina Xu, Dean of the Department of Energy and Power Engineering, and Prof. Zhe Wang, Vice Director of Institute for Carbon Neutrality etc.
Tsinghua University has been a strategic flagship partner with TUM for many years, and there is strong bilateral interest to renew the flagship partnership and advance the strategic collaboration in common interested areas. One of these strategic areas is carbon neutrality and renewable energy.
Under such background, the Chair hosted the 1st TUM – Tsinghua Forum on Carbon Neutrality and Energy Transformation. In the Forum, the SVC of TUM, Prof. Julia Winkelmann delivered welcome addressing, followed by bilateral presentations, and roundtable discussions. The forum is attended by the Chair of Thermodyanmcis, Munich Institute of Integrated Materials, Energy and Process Engineering (MEP), Chair of Environmental and Climate Policy, Chair of Urban Water Systems Engineering, and excellence Cluster e-conversion etc, and Chaired by Prof. Wen and Prof. Miranda Scheurs. Constructive and fruitful discussion are presented.
Following the Forum, a draft MoU is initiated to promote further bilateral collaboration in this area under the framework of TUM-Tsinghua flagship partnership. It is agreed that the next forum will be held in Tsinghua.
