The German Association for Computational Mechanics (GACM) has awarded the GACM Best PhD Award 2020 to our former team member Maximilian Grill. His dissertation "Computational models and methods for molecular interactions of deformable fibers in complex biophysical systems" was supervised by Prof. Wolfgang A. Wall here at the Institute for Computational Mechanics. Meanwhile, Dr. Grill has joined the TUM spin-off Ebenbuild as a Senior Research Engineer.

The award ceremony will take place at the upcoming 9th GACM Colloquium on Computational Mechanics in Essen 2022. In addition, Dr. Grill's work has been nominated for the upcoming ECCOMAS Best PhD Award, i.e. for the best Ph.D. Thesis in the field of Computational Methods in Applied Sciences and Engineering at the European level.
