Patrick Alter joins the TFD group to work on flasHH

Patrick holds a dual M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering and Industrial Engineering from TU Darmstadt. His master’s thesis — focused on the impact of acoustically lined walls on the stability of compressible boundary layer flows — earned him the ZARM Sponsorship Prize in 2023.

After gaining over two years of industry experience at Lufthansa Technik AG, Patrick now joins the TFD group to model and analyze hydrogen flame flashback. His work will contribute to the flasHH project, a collaborative effort supported by FVV and DFG, in partnership with Kilian Oberleithner’s team at TU Berlin.
