Dr. Mirko Bothien from Ansaldo Energia has been offered a IAS Rudolf Diesel Industry Fellowship

We are pleased to announce that our nomination of Dr. Mirko Bothien for a Rudolf Diesel Industry Fellowship of the of Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) has been successful. This Fellowship is named after Rudolf Diesel (1858-1913), who was a TUM student with Professor Carl von Linde, the first thermodynamics professor at the TUM. After Dr. Bruno Schuermans from GE Power, who made major contributions to the research on high frequency combustion at the TUM, Dr. Mirko Bothien will become the second Rudolf Diesel Industry Fellow at the Thermodynamics Institute.

TUM-IAS Fellows are given the freedom to pursue research activities without the burden of bureaucratic requirements. The TUM Institute for Advanced Study promotes top-level research in the Excellence Initiative of the German Federal Governments.
