Thematic Extension of the Research on Flame Acceleration and Deflagration to Detonation Transition DDT

After completing a DDT study for the chemical industry, Christian Barfuß is breaking new ground in his theoretical and numerical research: While in the past mixtures of hydrogen and air or oxygen were of interest, the work in the future is aimed at more complex fuels and to gas mixtures which play a technically important role in energy and process engineering and which exhibit potential hazards. The experimental part is taken over by Daniel Heilbronn, who joined the Thermodynamics Institute middle of June. The staff of the institute wishes them both success!
