Successful completion of the Bavarian Hydrogen Center

The joint research project Bavarian Hydrogen Center (BHC) was completed successfully with handing in the final report at the Bavarian State Ministry of Education, Cult, Science, and Art, in beginning of April. The BHC was a joint venture of the Technical University Munich, the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen, the University Bayreuth and the Eastern Bavarian Technical University of applied science Amberg-Weiden with the target to investigate and enhance a sustainable hydrogen technology.

The institute of Thermodynamics researched on a hydrogen combustion process for a micro gas turbine with low pollution formation and a very high efficiency. The focus of the research was on safety, reliability and low nitrogen oxide emissions.

In the framework of the whole project, 30 dissertations and around 200 master and bachelor theses were written. Around ten percent of this work was realized at the institute of Thermodynamics.
