Dissertation Prizes

Two prizes for former Ph.D. students of the Thermodynamics Institute

Great news! After 2016, two of the (now only six) Mechanical Engineering prizes will go to former PhD students of the Thermodynamics Institute in 2020! And this despite the fact that the Willy Messerschmitt Prize no longer belongs to Mechanical Engineering and the Siemens Energy Prize has been history for quite some time:

Dr. Frederik Magnus Berger has been selected by the Faculty Award jury as this year's winner for his dissertation on High Frequency Transverse Thermoacoustic Instabilities in Swirl and Reheat Combustors.

Dr. Paul Christ has been selected by the jury of the Manfred Hirschvogel Prize for his dissertation on the topic of Modeling of Automotive HVAC Units Using Proper Orthogonal Decomposition.

Congratulations!
