In June, a total of 15 research assistants from TD made a one week trip to South Korea to visit ASME Turbo Expo in Seoul. At this year's Turbo Expo, they presented 13 research papers and 4 posters from the field of combustion research and gas turbine power generation, making the visit an even greater success than last year. In particular the sessions on “High Frequency Instabilities” and on “Flashback” consisted almost entirely of TD presentations and 2 out of the 4 TD posters made it into the conferences top 5. The opportunity to establish contact with colleagues from all over the world at numerous networking events as well as exploring the city of Seoul with its 10 million inhabitants and tasting the Korean food made this an interesting and pleasant trip for everyone.
Next year's Turbo Expo will be held in Charlotte, NC, USA together with ASME Power and INCOPE.
