Research and Innovation
At the Department Engineering Physics and Computation we work on engineering problems whose treatment requires a detailed analysis of the underlying physical phenomena. Based on this, we formulate conceptual or mathematical models, which we then solve with numerical methods. This fundamental approach enables the targeted development, optimization and control of components and systems, with due consideration of risks and uncertainties. Applications of our work can be found in a wide variety of industries, such as aerospace or energy and process engineering, as well as medical technology and materials science.
