Alexander Popp, who received his PhD from LNM / TUM in 2012 and then was Postdoc at LNM until end of 2017, who is now Full Professor of Computer-Based Simulation at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, received the prestigious Olgierd Cecil Zienkiewicz Award for Young Scientists 2018 from the European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS). The award was delivered by ECCOMAS President Michał Kleiber at the opening ceremony of the big ECCM-ECFD 2018 Conference in Glasgow (see www.eccomas.org/vnews/1088/eccomas-awards-2018).
