Dr. Alexander Popp awarded fellowship of the Daimler and Benz Foundation

The Daimler and Benz Foundation has awarded a research fellowship to Dr. Alexander Popp for his project proposal "Bottom-Up Modeling of Self-Expandable Stent Grafts for Endovascular Repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms“. He is among the twelve awardees who were selected out of more than 200 applicants, and his research will be funded by the foundation for the next two years. In collaboration with biomedical engineers and vascular surgeons from the University of Tokyo (Japan), the project aims at developing highly efficient computational models for arterial stents and stent grafts that will allow for an improved patient-specific choice of the most suitable device and its positioning in order to reduce typical stenting risks such as migration or endoleakage.
