Dr. Alexander Popp, former member of LNM between 2007 an 2017, has accepted an offer from the University of the Bundeswehr Munich to join the Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences. Since January 2018, he is Full Professor of Computer-Based Simulation and leads the new Institute for Mathematics and Computer-Based Simulation (IMCS) in Neubiberg near Munich. We will continue to maintain a very close collaboration between LNM and IMCS, in particular with regard to the future development of our multiphysics research code BACI and with regard to several joint research projects.
