Christoph Schmidt received the 3rd prize of "MINT-Award Technik 2017" for his Master's Thesis entitled "Finite Element Analysis of Lithium Plating in Lithium-Ion Batteries". The work was conducted in cooperation with supervisor Rui Fang at the Institute for Computational Mechanics in summer 2016. The award includes prize money of 500 euros and is endowed by the audimax MEDIEN GmbH and MAHLE for an excellent Master's Thesis dealing with ''future electromobility – innovative concepts revolutionizing the application of batteries''.
