Alexander Popp leads a new ZD.B (Center Digitization.Bavaria) research group at LNM

Dr. Alexander Popp has been successful with his project proposal "EVARSim: A Simulation-Based Digital Toolchain for Surgery Planning and Risk Prediction in Endovascular Repair (EVAR) of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA)" at the Center Digitization.Bavaria (ZD.B). The project has been selected by the international evaluation committee as one of seven junior research groups (out of more than 80 applications) and will be funded with a research grant of 1.2M €. EVARSim is the only ZD.B group in an engineering discipline and will expedite innovative research at the forefront of simulation-based engineering. As a long-term vision, the project also aims at a comprehensive clinical validation of its findings, which will pave the way towards the advancement of digital technologies in precision medicine.
