Andreas Strittmatter reaches the final of the 2026 Brian Pitt Excellence Award

We are delighted to announce that our TFD colleague Andreas Strittmatter has been selected as one of five finalists for the 2026 Brian Pitt Excellence Award – Master’s Thesis Competition, organised by ETN Global.
Andreas was selected for his Master’s thesis, “Large Eddy Simulation Based Identification of Entropy Wave Generation Mechanisms in the Secondary Zone of an RQL Combustor,” completed at our TFD group.
The competition recognises outstanding Master’s theses addressing innovative research in the field of gas turbine technology. Following the evaluation of the submitted theses, Andreas will present his work alongside the other four finalists during the online final on 9 September 2026. The winner will be announced at the end of the event.
