Nicolas de Jong joins the TFD group
02.03.2026
We are happy to welcome Nicolas de Jong as a new colleague at our chair. Nicolas is an aerospace engineer with a BSc from TU Madrid (UPM) and an MSc from TU Delft, with a background in fluid dynamics and combustion. His previous work includes software development for internal flow modelling of rocket engines (ODEKO), the development of thermoacoustic models for liquid rocket engines, and the design, testing, and simulation of solid and liquid rocket engines and detonations. In his new role, he will work on improving thermoacoustic modelling of combustion chambers with liners by translating existing analytical and semi-empirical liner boundary conditions into a state-space formulation and implementing them in Nektar++. The models will be validated using SCARLET test data provided by our industry partner Rolls-Royce.
