TFD at WCCM–ECCOMAS 2026
20.06.2026
This week, three contributions from the Thermo-Fluid Dynamics Group are being presented at the 17th World Congress on Computational Mechanics & 10th European Congress on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences and Engineering (WCCM–ECCOMAS 2026) in Munich. The congress is one of the world's largest events in computational mechanics, bringing together thousands of researchers from academia and industry.
Our contributions cover a broad range of topics, from differentiable finite element methods and uncertainty-aware thermoacoustic prediction to neural-network-enhanced model reduction:
- Hofer, Désor, Zimmermann, Polifke: Differentiable Finite Element Modeling of Reactive Low-Mach Flows
- Zimmermann, Désor, Polifke: Evidence-Based Prediction of Thermoacoustic Limit Cycles with Bayesian Neural Networks
- Doehner, Liebke, Silva: Nonlinear Model Reduction: Combining the Descriptive Power of ODEs with Neural Networks in a Universal Differential Equation
With three presentations among roughly 4,000 contributions, TFD accounts for approximately 0.075% of the entire conference—a small fraction numerically, but one we're proud to contribute. We wish our colleagues successful presentations and many inspiring discussions!
