Philip Bonnaire successfully defends his dissertation
24.06.2026
Congratulations to Dr.-Ing. Philip Bonnaire on the successful defence of his doctoral thesis!
His thesis, entitled “High-Frequency Combustion Instabilities Induced by a Reacting Jet in Cross-Flow”, represents the culmination of years of dedicated research and valuable contributions to the field of high-frequency combustion dynamics. These include, amongst others, his papers “Analysis of High-Frequency Dynamics of a Reacting Jet in Cross-Flow Based on Large Eddy Simulation” and “Thermoacoustic feedback mechanisms for premixed burners with a reacting hydrogen-methane jet in cross-flow”, which have advanced our understanding of high-frequency combustion dynamics in jet-in-cross-flow configurations. A Slidecast on the latter paper, published in Combustion and Flame, is available on YouTube.
An overview of Philip’s research, and his PhD thesis in particular, has also been published as a video on our YouTube channel.
Congratulations once again, Philip, and all the best for this exciting new chapter!
