Successful participation of TFD at ASME Turbo Expo 2026
19.06.2026
The TFD group was pleased to contribute to the ASME Turbo Expo 2026, held in Milan, Italy. Three members of our group presented their research contributions addressing key challenges in combustion and aero-engine technology:
- Korbinian Niebler et al. – Flame Dynamics Similarity in a Geometrically-Scaled Lean Premixed Swirl Combustor
- Marcel Desor et al. – Large Eddy Simulation of Premixed Hydrogen Flame Flashback Including Conjugate Heat Transfer and Soret Effect
- Marian Hiestermann et al. – Influence of Steam Injection on Nitric Oxide Formation Pathways in an IAE V2500 Aero Engine Combustor
The corresponding papers will be published in the Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power.
Beyond the presentations, the conference offered valuable opportunities for discussion with experts from both academia and industry. The insightful feedback and exchange of ideas provided new perspectives and will contribute to the continued development of our ongoing research activities.
We would like to thank the organizers of ASME Turbo Expo 2026 for hosting a successful conference and all participants who attended our presentations and contributed to the discussions.
We look forward to continuing these exchanges and to future scientific collaborations within the international gas turbine community.
